A trip out on the water is a great way to spend your time. There are some great options available in Victoria. Here are my two favourites.
Harbour Ferries offers 45 minute Inner Harbour Tours. A short walk from Chateau Victoria, tours depart from the Causeway in front of the Empress Hotel regularly throughout the day. See a village of floating homes, a beautiful marina, seals, birds, float planes, the entrance to historic Esquimalt and more! It’s a great way to see Victoria from a different perspective.
Prices are reasonable – Adults $22, Seniors $20, Children (12 & under) $10 and a family pass is $54 (2 adults/2 children). They are open from 10:00am to 9:00pm every day, weather permitting.
If getting out for a high sea adventure is more to your liking, then 3 Hour Sail is the tour for you. For only $69 per person you can have the complete tall ship sailing experience. All ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate in sailing the vessel – although you don’t have to if you’d rather relax and take in the sights.
The tour includes the Fisgard Lighthouse, the Naval Harbour, Esquimalt Lagoon up to Whitty’s Lagoon, Clover Point and Trial Island. You’ll see lots of marine life and gorgeous scenery. Departure times vary, so make sure you call ahead 250-885-2311.
Roy has been a Concierge at the Chateau Victoria since 2004.He loves people and he loves Victoria. His favourite part of being a Concierge is introducing guests to the many hidden treasures that Victoria has to offer.Tags: float planes, marina, sailing, things to do, tour, tourism, vancouver island, victoria, water
