Chateau Victoria Receives Certificate of Recognition for Health and Safety
Earlier this year, the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites was pleased to receive the Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification from go2, a BC tourism human resource association responsible for coordinating the BC Tourism Labour Market Strategy.
COR is a voluntary “best practice” program that enhances an organization’s health and safety program. The goal is to reduce injury and claim costs and provide a safe work environment for employees, with rewards for meeting pre-determined benchmarks.
Including the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites, there are presently 13 COR Certified tourism businesses in BC. Another 28 tourism businesses have registered to pursue the certification, with many other organizations expressing interest in participating.
Tourism is one of the largest industries in BC with approximately 18,000 mainly small to medium sized businesses employing more than 127,000 British Columbians. go2 serves the tourism industry with programs and services to support growth.
go2 also provides a variety of industry health and safety resources that can help tourism businesses of any size implement an effective health and safety program. Visit www.go2hr.ca/ihs to learn more.
