Recently CNN wrote an article called 3 fun and cheap road trips. Trip no. 2 covered the Pacific Northwest which included a trip from Seattle to Victoria to Cowichan Bay and then on to Vancouver. Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites was listed as the great place to stay in Victoria. They even mentioned our rooftop restaurant – Vista 18.
We are so excited that CNN has recognized that we have a great downtown Victoria location, delightful rooftop restaurant, and affordable pricing. What a compliment! So in honour of CNN’s 3 fun and cheap road trips, we thought we’d suggest our favourite 3 fun and cheap things to do while in Victoria.
- Take a walk along the waterfront at Dallas Road and through Beacon Hill Park in James Bay. There are great paths, beautiful gardens and gorgeous ocean views. There is even a petting zoo for the kids.
- Browse the shops along Government Street for some great local shopping.
- Take a 45 minute Inner Harbour Tour from Harbour Ferries. The little ferries take you all around the inner harbour, past the floating homes and marina to the entrance of historic Esquimalt and back. Well worth it for only $22.
