This year celebrates ten years that the Victoria Operatic Society has performed for our Christmas guests.
This has become a little tradition that the hotel family take great pride in each year and 2012 is no exception. We managed to get on the list in first place for best hotel in the Times Colonist annual lighting contest. Thank you to all who voted and kept our spirits bright. Many thanks to Sports and Leisure Vacations for recognizing us in their 2012 Outstanding Visitor Experience Awards. The announcement appeared in the National Tour Association conference program for Orlando Florida. We are recognized along with 7 other North American hotels this year. We are also very proud to see our city of Victoria awarded for Outstanding Visitor Experience. It is this kind of recognition that keeps our destination top of mind with companies that can direct visitors our way and we appreciate the effort by Sports Leisure Vacations.
Both Mr. and Mrs Claus were in fine form as they arrived at Vista 18. Their arrival raised the excitement in the room to a feverish level, fueled in part by the syrupy sweet breakfast donated by the hotel. This has become a decade old annual tradition and continues to play a vital role to both families who enjoy contributing and to those who benefit from the giving in our community.
The Chateau Victoria hotel staff donate their time to serve, the hotel donates the food and many guests donate far more than the price of the meal to raise the much needed funds for the Times Colonist Christmas Fund. Our suppliers, GFS foods and Oughtred Coffee also donated their products for this event. This year $4,889.05 was raised by this event alone. All funds stay in the community and go to families in need. for more information on The TC Christmas Fund or to donate, click here.
