June 30, 2021

Travel is part of our DNA and we’re all excited to see it return so we can welcome our neighbours from Alberta and the rest of Canada to the Chateau Victoria.  Summer  2021 is a great time to #exploreBCnow, connect with family and friends as well as exploring everything our city has to offer.

Step 3 has a lot of changes, such as masks being optional for those who have had both vaccination shots, and showing proof of vaccination is not required.  It’s important to remember we are all learning as we go, and we need to have kindness and patience at the heart of everything we do.

Be assured that your guestroom, as well as all public areas, have received the additional cleaning and sanitization processes they deserve, with emphasis on all guest touch points and surfaces.

Returning guests will notice the many changes to our operation but for your benefit we have summarized some key changes below. If you have any further questions or comments, please reach out to our front desk and we will be happy to assist in any way we can.

Parking at all downtown hotels is over capacity due to the fact we do not have bus tours and conference groups.  TIP: there are hundreds of unused parking spots at the public library, behind our hotel for $12 per night.  You might want to avoid the congestion of the hotel parking lot by parking off site.  Look for the Courtney St. entrance.

If you can find a spot on site at the hotel, park first, and inform the front desk at check in.

Front Desk Check Out:

We encourage all guests to make use of our Express Check at the front desk to avoid longer waits during high volume periods. Simply place your keys in the key folder along with your guest ID in the Express Check Out slot. Our team will email you a copy of your charges if we have an email address on file.

  • We are currently are not offering daily stay over service in rooms. We are focusing our labour on ensuring clean and well equiped rooms for arrivals until we can hire more people.  Should you have a need for service, please contact our front desk and we will be happy to discuss the options available. All rooms have been provided with extra amenities prior to check in.
  • Your room is stocked with coffee but tea is by request, please contact the front desk to have some delivered to your room.
  • The dishware in your cabinet has been cleaned and sanitized for you. Please only open the doors if you intend to use them. Once you open the cabinet, please leave the note on the counter to alert us that the items require sanitation for the next guests

Food and Beverage:

Please follow the links to Vista 18 and Clive’s Classic Lounge  for current hours of operation and menu offering.

We will be pausing our Room Service effective July 21 in order to expand our restaurant and bar service using our limited human resources.  We expect this is a temporary measure until we are able to expand our labour force.  This page will post the latest details as they change.

We appreciate your understanding and full cooperation with these health and safety procedures, and thank you for your assistance.
